Shanahan was a patent specialist at ‘Townsend and Townsend and Crew, LLP’ in 2009. She joined the law firm ‘Rutan & Tucker, LLP’ in Costa Mesa, Orange County, being an IP paralegal and database specialist (March 2009 – April 2010).
Shanahan joined the start-up phase of the financial service provider company ‘RPX Corporation’ in March 2010 and worked briefly there as a patent specialist. With ‘PDB Patent Data,’ she worked independently with several start-up companies to greatly help them optimize their patent data efforts.
Shanahan established the automated patent management and valuation company ‘ClearAccessIP’ in January 2013 and has been the CEO since then. She developed the idea of the entrepreneurial venture over four years while she was working for several law firms and later a licensing company. She worked upon building a fantastic technical team whilst in law school, which finally gave her idea a structure.
