I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials for all-in-one (AV) home entertainment systems. Professionals have told me that these units are the way to go because they can save you money and be better than separate components. I think these people are wrong. If you’re considering buying an AV receiver, keep in mind that it’s not necessarily better than a quality component system, and there may be some compromises involved in using this equipment instead of a full home theater setup.
You don’t have to buy the right receiver, but it will cost you a lot of money.
AV receivers can be used for surround sound. If you want to use your AV receiver as a home theater system, then you need to make sure that it has enough HDMI inputs and outputs so that all your devices can connect with each other (for example: if there are two TVs in the room, then each TV must have its own HDMI input). An additional feature is 7.1 channels of surround sound through digital optical output which allows better performance than traditional analog connections found on older models (5-7 channels).
You also need an audio processor which converts analog signals into digital ones before sending them out over HDMI cables; this makes sure that everything works properly and provides high-quality sound during playback or recording!
The idea that you can’t get a good subwoofer with an AV receiver as part of your system might sound like common sense. After all, these devices are designed for home theater use–they don’t have the power to drive a subwoofer. But there’s actually no reason why you can’t use an AV receiver with a subwoofer if you want to–it just won’t be as sexy a setup as if you had separate amps and speakers for each piece of equipment.
The best way to get around this is by using an external amplifier instead of hooking up directly to your TV’s inputs; this will allow for more flexibility in terms of placement (i.e., not having wires everywhere). So even though it may seem like there should be no reason why this wouldn’t work out well for anyone who wants some serious bass in their living room, it actually does!
You can’t save money by buying an all-in-one unit instead of a separate component system. The idea is that you don’t need to buy the right receiver, just one that has the features you want. If your AV receiver doesn’t have Dolby Atmos or DTS:X support, then it’s not worth buying as your main sound system for home theater.
However, there are still plenty of good reasons to get an AV receiver if you’re looking at getting into home theater in its own way rather than just using it as part of a larger multiroom setup. For example:
AV Receivers are not just for surround sound. They can be used for music or movies, as well as gaming, sports, and more.
They don’t have to be expensive to work well in your home theater system. In fact, some models cost less than $100!
AV Receivers are also easy to install and come with all the necessary wiring needed so there’s no need for extra cables that may get lost over time or cause clutter around your entertainment center (or even worse–in the middle of a movie).
If you’re considering a home theater system, your best bet is to do some research and find a good deal on equipment that will meet your needs. You’ll also want to make sure that any receiver you buy can handle everything from 2-channel stereo music to Dolby Surround sound if that’s what you’re looking for. If the surround system isn’t enough, or if the price seems too high compared with other options out there, you may want to consider an all-in-one unit instead of buying separate components such as speakers and subwoofers separately from each other
